1 John 1:3 “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

Sunday Morning March 21, 1976 a body of bible-believing people gathered together and decided to have a song, prayer and Sunday School lesson. The people were determined with God's help to start a New Testament Independent Baptist Church in Williamston NC. for the glory of God.

Thus were the humble beginnings of what was to become, and is now, Fellowship Baptist Church.

Acts 2:42 “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

Meeting in the month of March in a storefront off main street, the people met and worshipped together with a spirit of unity and accord.

On May the 19, 1976 Brother Richard Miller was called as their first Pastor, and he took his position June 9th.

On Wednesday night June 30th the Church , then uncharted , adopted a constitution and missions program.

On July 28th 1976 the Church was officially chartered, with the pastor confirmed and all officers re-elected.

 

The Church had it’s first baptism with seven souls baptized August 8th.

Nov 19th 1978 the Church purchased property from Mr. John Whitley for $24,000 just outside the city limits. Again God granted the prayers of his people and they rejoiced.

On April 26, 1981, under the pastorate of Brother Jack Tripp, now in full time evangelism, the Church body moved into a brand new sanctuary, located on this property constructed by Mr. D. G. Manning.

 

What a glad Hallelujah day!

 

On this great day, the newly formed choir sang "Nothing is impossible." The members agreed (and we still agree!) that truly nothing is impossible with God!

A one week Revival was held starting April 27th 1981 with Aubrey Jackson of Easley SC.

Then on May 3rd the Church held its official dedication services for the lot and the building God had so richly blessed them with.

God has sent servants to shepherd the flock at Fellowship over the years, nine in number.

Fellowship Baptist Church has been to EXALT the SAVIOUR, in our every endeavor, EVANGELIZE the SINNER, reaching them with the gospel that they may repent, be converted, baptized and brought into the household of faith, and EDIFY the SAINTS bringing them to maturity through sound preaching, biblical teaching and encouragement.

The future is as bright as the promises of God!
